Sioux Narrows
Located on the eastern shores of Lake of the Woods amongst
towering pine trees and picturesque lakes and rivers is Sioux
Narrows. Sioux Narrows is home to world class fishing lodges,
homey recreational resorts and unique gift shops. The year is filled
with a multitude of activities for visitors including free outdoor
concerts and community events. Each summer this cottage town
hosts an Arts Festival which draws local artisans as well as
exhibitors from far and wide to display fine art, woodwork, pottery
and more. The Northern Ontario Sportfishing Centre opened in
2012 and has exhibits and displays depicting the history and
culture of the area.
Nature lovers will be delighted by the beautiful scenery that makes
Sioux Narrows so special. Rocky cliffs and pristine lakes created by
glacial activities thousands of years ago present a Lake of the
Woods setting that is unrivaled. The boreal forest of our region is
home to bald eagles, falcons, owls, herons, loons, pelicans and
many other species of birds. Glimpse bear, deer, moose and timber
wolves. Walking our hiking trails is an excellent way to experience
the beautiful outdoors that Sioux Narrows offers.
Anglers will appreciate the great variety of fish that inhabit the
waters of the Sioux Narrows area, including trophy walleye, world
famous muskie, northern pike, lake trout, large and smallmouth
bass, crappies and yellow perch. Make sure you visit the Northern
Ontario Sportfishing Centre along Highway 71.
