Emo Emo is situated on the graceful banks of the beautiful Rainy River. Emo's waterfront has it all; a park, boat launch, walking and biking trails and a great stop to shop! Souvenirs, apparel, groceries and gas can be found on both the waterfront as well as along Highway 11. Race car enthusiasts won't want to miss the stock car action at the Emo Speedway. Cars from the central United States and Canada compete for prizes on a quarter mile, banked track. Emo is home to Norlund Chapel, one of the world's smallest churches. Built by two local men in 1973, the chapel is open as a house of prayer. Measuring just 8'X10' the building can only hold eight people at a time. The chapel's steeple was salvaged from a fire in 1971 and has a six foot high iron cross forged by a local blacksmith in 1935. The Rainy River District Women's Institute Museum houses a collection of pioneer artifacts, displaying the history of the settlers in the region. Just north of Emo, along the Pipestone Chain of Lakes, off of Highways 613 and 615, you will find many great lodges and resorts.
