A Breathtaking
Natural Environment
As lakes go, Lake of the Woods (surface
area 1,679 square miles) and Lac Seul
(surface area 640 square miles) are true
wonders of nature. Their vast size and
expansive waters make them ideal for
houseboating. Think about what a week on
either lake would be like in the comfort of a
“floating cabin”! At your leisure you could
explore bays and inlets, fish a new spot
every hour or two, go swimming on a
secluded sand beach or watch a sunset from
the top deck. Because they move around on
the water, houseboats offer vacationers
many options and are probably the best way
to see and enjoy these two lakes.

So Much to See and Do
See wildlife along the shores, eagles
soaring overhead and large groups of
pelicans as you cruise slowly by. The
opportunities to photograph the lake and
its shoreline are exceptional so bring your
camera and several SD cards – you’ll need
them! If you do a houseboat vacation as a
family, your kids will experience
something they’ll carry with them the rest
of their lives – a treasured memory of time
spent on vacation with mom and dad!
They will never get bored swimming,
fishing, boating or just plain exploring all
the islands and beaches you stop at.
Renting a houseboat on one of these lakes
is easy! We have houseboat operators
located in Sioux Lookout/Hudson and Ear
Falls for those wanting to venture out on
Lac Seul and in Sioux Narrows and
Kenora for those looking at cruising on
Lake of the Woods. Like a fly-in fishing
trip, renting a houseboat on one of these
two lakes should be on everyone’s vacation
“bucket list”.
