The main communities within the Patricia
Region are already known to many serious
anglers. Vermilion Bay, Perrault Falls, Ear
Falls, Red Lake, Sioux Lookout, Ignace and
Pickle Lake have been the launching points
for many fishing adventures. In the heart of
the region is the City of Dryden, central to
everything and a great place to drive through
and pick up supplies on your way to the
lodge.
Since it covers such a vast area and it has so
many lakes, you can expect the fishing to be
fast and furious and your best chances at a
trophy northern pike or lake trout are
probably on a lake in the Patricia Region.
The walleye fishing on Lac Seul and Lake St.
Joseph is legendary but this quality is
equalled on almost all the other smaller lakes
in the region. North America’s most
northerly muskie lakes are located here. Eagle
Lake, Canyon, and the east side of Lac Seul
have trophy muskie fishing. River systems
such as the Sutton, Albany, or Winisk are
teeming with 4-8 pound brook trout.
Beautiful Tiger Muskie.

Making up over 50% of the land area in
Sunset Country, the Patricia Region begins at
Eagle Lake in the south and extends all the
way north past the end of the road and into
true, virgin wilderness. You can’t even
imagine the number of lakes and diversity of
fishing opportunities that are available here –
it’s that big! Some famous lakes found in its
boundaries include Lac Seul, Red Lake, Trout
Lake, Wabaskang Lake, Perrault Lake,
Gullrock Lake, Lake St. Joseph, Lake Savant
and Sturgeon Lake to name only a handful!
There are also several hundred fly-in lakes
where it’s you, the fish and nobody else!
