JEN TAMAS
Jen Tamas joined the Nebraska volleyball staff
as a volunteer assistant in May 2015. She came to
the Huskers from Cal Poly along with her husband,
Chris Tamas, who is an assistant coach for NU. Jen
Tamas was also a volunteer assistant at Cal Poly in
2013 and 2014.
The former Jen Joines was a four-time AllAmerican middle blocker at Pacific (2000-03) and
silver medalist with the United States at the 2008
Summer Olympics. She played professionally for
eight years in Japan, Italy, Russia, Azerbaijan and
Puerto Rico and was the U.S. Women’s National
Team captain for four years.
“I coached Jen on two USA teams previously, and she’s very good friends with Jordan LarsonBurbach and Nancy Metcalf (Meendering),” Nebraska Coach John Cook said. “She’s interested

She was the 2003 Big West Conference Player of
the Year and 2000 Big West Freshman of the Year at
Pacific, where she led the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament each year. Tamas earned communications
and business degrees at Pacific.
DAN MADER
Dan Mader enters his fourth season with
the Nebraska volleyball program as a graduate
manager in 2015. Mader also served as the master
coach for the age 15-17 age division with Volleyball
Club Nebraska in 2014, while also coaching the
14 Elite team.
Mader boasts experience as both a coach and
player. For the past three seasons, he has been a
coach with the Sports Performance Volleyball Club
in Chicago. In 2012, Mader led the 18 Red team to
an AAU national championship in the club division.
The following season, Mader assisted Rick Butler
with the 18 Elite team that won the national title in the open division.
As a player, Mader competed in 96 matches during his four-year career at IPFW from 2009 to

2012 under AVCA Hall of Fame coach Arnie Ball. A Playing Experience
setter, Mader amassed 2,231 career assists, good » IPFW (2009-12)
for seventh in IPFW history. He also added 34 aces,
274 blocks and 279 digs in 96 career matches for Education
the Mastadons. Mader enjoyed his best season » IPFW (2012), Bachelor’s Degree
General Studies
as a sophomore in 2010, when he tallied 1,180
assists while averaging 12.69 assists per set. In
addition to posting the 14th-highest single-season assist total in program history, Mader notched
career-high totals of 65 assists, 14 digs, six blocks and five aces as a sophomore. During his senior
season in 2012, Mader appeared in 22 matches primarily as an attacker. He totaled a career-high
45 kills as a senior, including a career-high 11 kills against Grand Canyon.
Following his playing career, Mader earned his bachelor’s degree as a general studies major
with minors in anthropology and communications from IPFW in 2012. He is a native of Lombard, Ill.
LINDSAY PETERSON
Former Husker volleyball standout Lindsay
Peterson is in her 10th year as Director of Operations
for the Nebraska volleyball program. A former
Husker volleyball captain and one of the greatest
defensive players in school history, Peterson was
hired in 2006 after serving assistant coaching stints
at Northern Colorado and Virginia Tech.
At Nebraska, Peterson handles a variety of
duties for the Husker volleyball team, including
team travel, budgeting, coordinating tournaments
and camps and assisting visiting teams. She also
serves as a liaison for volleyball support units,
including facilities and events, media relations, marketing, compliance, HuskerVision, the ticket
office, alumni and The Match Club. She also provides radio color commentary during Nebraska’s
road matches. In addition to her duties on the Husker staff, Peterson serves as a club coach for
Nebraska Juniors, helping the 15-and-under team to a USA Junior Olympic National title in 2010.
Peterson came to Nebraska after serving as an assistant coach in the Northern Colorado
program from March of 2005 to July of 2006. At Northern Colorado, she worked extensively with
the setters and liberos and helped with recruiting in the Midwest. In 2005, she helped a pair of
Northern Colorado players earn first-team Division I Independent honors, including libero Abby
Mayne, who was named Division I Independent Co-Defensive Player of the Year after averaging
4.44 digs per game.
After serving as an undergraduate assistant coach at Nebraska in 2003, Peterson was on the
staff at Virginia Tech in 2004, helping the Hokies finish with a 13-16 record, including a 7-9 mark
in the program’s first season in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

the newly created libero role in 2002. That season
she averaged 3.35 digs per set, a total that was fourth in school history at the time. As a setter in
1999, she posted a then-freshman record 724 set assists.
In the classroom, Peterson was a three-time, first-team academic All-Big 12 selection, a
six-time selection to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and finished her degree in business
administration at Nebraska in 2003, when she served as an undergraduate assistant coach. In that
role, she assisted with recruiting, game day preparation and various coaching duties.
A native of Burchard, Neb., the former Lindsay Wischmeier led Lewiston High School to a pair of
Class D-2 State Championships (1995 and 1997) and earned D-2 Player-of-the-Year honors while
also being a three-time academic all-state selection. She married Ty Peterson in May of 2007,
and the couple welcomed the birth of their first son, Drake, in May of 2013, and their second son,
Jax, in December of 2014.
