OUTSIDE HITTERS: ALL-AROUND
Outside hitters have become household
names at Nebraska. Sarah Pavan, Jordan
Larson, Kelsey Robinson, Kadie Rolfzen,
Christina Houghtelling, Jennifer Saleaumua,
Nancy Metcalf, Laura Pilakowski, Tara
Mueller, Lindsey Licht, Hannah Werth, Gina
Mancuso and Lisa Reitsma have dominated
the college landscape.
Outside hitters have flourished at Nebraska,
earning 29 All-America awards since 1996,
including AVCA National Players of the
Year Christina Houghtelling (2005) and
Sarah Pavan (2006).
In 2014, the sophomore Rolfzen was a
third-team AVCA All-American for the
second straight season. She became the
27th Husker all-time with multiple AVCA
All-America selections. NU’s outside
hitters are the most versatile players in the
nation. Werth (2010), Larson (2006, 2008),
Houghtelling (2007) and Saleaumua (2004,
2005) were all conference defensive players
of the year.
