Nebraska has enjoyed a tradition of success
at the middle blocker position. Since Terri
Kanouse captured All-America honors
in 1980, Husker middle blockers have
combined for 23 All-America certificates,
including Honda Award winner Karen
Dahlgren and AVCA National Player of the
Year and U.S. Olympian Allison Weston.
Under Coach John Cook, Nebraska’s
middle blockers have annually been one
of the nation’s top units. Over the last 15
seasons, the Huskers have led the nation in
blocks five times, including both 2005 and
2006. With Cook at the helm, Nebraska
middle blockers have combined for 11 TRACY STALLS
AVCA All-America certificates and have U.S. National Team Member
AVCA All-American (2006, 2007)
won national individual blocking titles on NCAA Record for Hitting Percentage, Match (1.000)
three occasions.
