USKERS CONFERENCE DOMINANCE Nebraska opened a new chapter in its storied history in 2012, when the Huskers finished third in their first year as a member of the Big Ten Conference. After a second-place finish in 2013, the Huskers won their first Big Ten title in 2014. With the addition of Maryland and Rutgers for the 2015 season, the Big Ten has become the nation's largest softball conference (14 teams). Twelve of the 14 Big Ten programs have made the NCAA Tournament in the past six seasons. Despite the league's success and commitment to the sport, Nebraska's history stacks up well against its peers, as the charts below indicate. Nebraska has won a total of 19 conference titles in the 38 seasons it has been affiliated with a conference. Previously, NU played in the Big Eight Conference (1977-1995) and the Big 12 Conference (1996-2011).
