USKERS
CONFERENCE
DOMINANCE
Nebraska opened a new chapter in its storied history in 2012, when
the Huskers finished third in their first year as a member of the Big
Ten Conference. After a second-place finish in 2013, the Huskers
won their first Big Ten title in 2014. With the addition of Maryland
and Rutgers for the 2015 season, the Big Ten has become the
nation's largest softball conference (14 teams). Twelve of the 14
Big Ten programs have made the NCAA Tournament in the past
six seasons. Despite the league's success and commitment to the
sport, Nebraska's history stacks up well against its peers, as the
charts below indicate. Nebraska has won a total of 19 conference
titles in the 38 seasons it has been affiliated with a conference.
Previously, NU played in the Big Eight Conference (1977-1995)
and the Big 12 Conference (1996-2011).
