Uppinghouse provided a dominant physical presence in the midfield while leading the Huskers to their first NCAA Tournament and a 23-game winning streak as a junior in 1996. Two other Huskers, Lindsay Eddleman – who became Nebraska's first freshman to earn All-America honors – and goalkeeper Rebecca Hornbacher, joined Uppinghouse as All-Americans in 1996. In 1998, three Huskers earned All-America honors, including Sharolta Nonen, who became the first Nebraska player to become a two-time All-American. Isabelle Morneau and Kim Engesser also added the first honors of their careers.
