20 MillsapsMajorsBaseball 2014 Game of the Year 1 3 MAJORS NO-HIT TITANS JACKSON, MS- The Millsaps Majors Nathan Harrell and James Perkins combined for a no-hitter on Wednesday night in a 3-1 Majors win. Seven Titans reached base on Wednesday but none got on via a base knock. The Majors committed four errors, issued two walks and allowed two hit batters to reach base. It wasn’t a traditional no-hitter as the Titans scored a lone tally in the fourth. Harrell and Perkins were rolling on Tuesday with few hard hit balls from the Titans. Illinois Wesleyan’s biggest bid for a base hit was thwarted after William Chenoweth sprawled out for a Tim Coonan line drive to lead off the eighth. Perkins got a trio of routine fly outs to end the game and preserve the no-no. The Majors scored first on Wednesday, scoring a single tally in the second. Isaac Glenn had his first of three hits on the day, a double down the right field line, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a Samuel Doucet sac fly. The Majors made it 2-0 in the third, after Logan Patterson and Stephen Gates walked, and advanced to second and third after a wild pitch. After two outs, Patterson scored on another wild pitch to push across the second run. The Titans scored an inning later using an error, hit batter, sacrifice and a second error to score and make it 2-1. The Majors would threaten but not score in the bottom of the fourth.
