Rata House
Having the opportunity to be house leaders this
year was no doubt one of the biggest highlights
of our school years and an experience to always
hold onto. Although we were always aware of
Rata’s strong house spirit, it wasn’t until we
were able to be involved in every house event
this year that we experienced it first-hand. It
was truly amazing to be surrounded by a community of enthusiastic and supportive people.
One of the most important things learnt on our
journey was that no matter how many great
individuals there were, it was always when
the house worked together as a team that we
found our most rewarding successes. We would
firstly like to thank all of the fabulous staff that
played a large part in helping with sign-ups
and ensuring that we had full participation in
house events. Next we would like to thank the
entire house, especially those people from all
age groups that put their best efforts forward
for Rata.
We have so many aspiring young leaders that were up for any challenge. Lastly, Mr Brebner. His endless enthusiasm and passion for the house brought it together and he always found a way of making the events a good time.
He taught us a lot when it came to leadership, like being humble after our victories and accepting our losses with
resilience. We look forward to hearing about Rata in the future. If there was one piece of advice to give to any new
member, it would be to always give things a go because there is no such as thing as failure, only a lesson to be
learnt.
Many thanks and we wish all of the year 13’s the best of luck for the future,
