Kauri House
Kauri House Leaders]
Max Cooper, Olivia Broadhurst
2015 has been a roller coaster ride of glorious highs and regrettable lows for Kauri House. We started the year
with success at camp, banding together as a house to clinch the win over Miro. The friendships formed on camp
gave us an advantage over the other houses as we entered swimming sports; teamwork and participation meant
we were highly competitive in the senior categories, but unfortunately we were beaten overall. We bounced back
a fortnight later and dominated at athletics, coming away with yet another victory. However, the wheel of fortune
started turning against us, and we came third at house netball despite a heroic performance by our seniors, who
came first on both accounts. The loss at Kapa Haka followed by another loss at theatre sports was a blow to our
confidence, but we bounced back at touch rugby to win almost every game; resulting in a decisive victory. The last
house event, Army Challenge, was another landslide win, which gave our Year 13’s the perfect send off to end their
high school careers.
We cannot thank Kauri Year 13’s enough for a year of laughter and fun.
Special thanks to everybody who participated throughout the year, your hard work and dedication made it all
worthwhile.
All the best for the future,
Max and Olivia.
