Dear Texas Package Stores Association Member:
Welcome to San Antonio! This is truly an exciting time for the alcoholic
beverage industry. In Texas alone, we have seen an astounding 25%
increase in the number of in-state producers over the last two years,
meaning your customers can expect to see countless new products on
package store shelves.
With this increase in product and population, it has never been more
important for TPSA and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission to
foster a continued atmosphere of cooperation to ensure regulatory
compliance, public safety, and the stability of the three-tier system.
As always, the relationship between the TPSA and TABC is based upon
the law, both as written by the Legislature and as interpreted by the judicial
branch. While the recent 84th Legislature did not bring about any major
changes for package stores, TABC continues to defend the three-tier
system through the judicial process.
Working together, we can remain vigilant for the constant challenges to the
proven effectiveness of the three-tier system. I look forward to discussing
these issues and many others during our stay in San Antonio.
