MOST CRITICAL CHILD HEALTH CHALLENGES 2015 COMMUNITY HEALTH NEEDS ASSESSMENT Children’s Hospital Colorado conducted a Community Health Needs Assessment in order to better understand the current state of children’s health in Colorado, as well as the interests and concerns of Colorado parents and caregivers. Demographic data and community input contributed to a better understanding of the best way to fulfill the hospital’s mission of improving the health of children. This process helped to identify six priority health needs for children: Mental Health Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity Oral Health Injury Boulder Broomfield Adams In response to these findings, Children’s Colorado developed a 2016 Community Health Action Plan, defining how Children’s Colorado will Respiratory Illness Prematurity Denver Arapahoe Jefferson address these six main child health challenges, in targeted zip codes, over Douglas the next three years.
