Boys’ Basketball
The basketball season began with
tryouts and then the work began.
We practiced 3 days a week with
championship as our goal. With a
few practice games under our belt we
played in the Erzurum tournament.
This tournament was ours right from
the beginning and we became the city
champions. With this championship
we earned our place in the regional
tournament being held in Bayburt.
We easily defeated Elazığ and lost
by one point to Sivas. With a little
luck we could have won the regional
and moved on to the next round,
but the team played hard and Coach
Goldfinger was very proud. Now we
have the Bilkent tournament coming
up and the season will end. This team
felt like a family and with mostly 9th
graders we have a bright future.
