Safety Spotlight Vehicle Burglaries
Since February 29 , 2016 , there have been eight ( 8 ) Burglary of Motor Vehicles ; three ( 3 ) of them have occurred at daycares during drop off or pick up .
The items that were reported stolen include purses , phones , credit cards , clothing , and a laptop .
The Southlake Police Department wants to encourage everyone to follow the Hide , Lock , Take guidelines to help protect your personal property .
Many burglaries are committed when items are left in sight and / or a vehicle is left unlocked . Citizens need to be aware of their surroundings and be diligent about preventing crime at all times . A few minutes is all the time a thief needs to steal your cash , credit cards , and valuables , and then victimize you later by making fraudulent charges to those credit cards .
