Safety Spotlight Safe Holiday Practices December 2016 During the holiday hustle, families will be out shopping, decorating homes, attending holiday parties and traveling to see other family members. This often leads to increased daily activities and errands, and important safety measures may be forgotten. Below are several preventative tips to help keep everyone safe during the holiday season. Holiday Home Safety   Limit the time a package is left unattended on a porch after delivery.  Schedule a “Vacation House Watch” while on vacation.  Ensure doors and windows both in the home and in your garage are closed and locked.  Keep trees and shrubs trimmed and avoid creating a hiding place for potential criminal activity. Travel Safety   Do not be a distracted driver.  Allow for extra time during your travels.  Do not leave items in plain view ~ while shopping or in your driveway.
