Fremont High School has been transformed into a vibrant
and nurturing school which maximizes the potentials of all
our students in achieving academic, social, and personal
excellence. We make all school decisions and actions to
promote campus safety and the enduring well-being of
all in a diverse and productive environment. We have
extraordinary teachers and staff who care deeply about
promoting each student’s academic excellence, social
responsibility, accountability, and proactiveness. We value
each student and provide individualized attention to further
develop their strengths and meet their needs. In doing this,
we offer many opportunities and support, in and out of the
classroom, including 1) A ninth grade program to ensure
successful transition to high school and wrap-around services
for ninth graders, like engaging and relevant curriculum,
tutoring, counseling, medical services, intervention programs,
and extracurricular activities, 2) The opportunity to join
Architecture, Law and Public Service, or Media academies, 3)
Internships in real world work places, 4) College preparatory
advisory curriculum and an array of other college support
programs including Upward Bound, College Summit and Mills
Educational Talent Search, 5) An on-site health clinic including
medical, social and emotional counseling services, 6) English
Language Learner support including a newcomer program, ELD
classes and literacy support, 7) Oakland Athletic League (OAL)
sports teams, including football, basketball, soccer, volleyball,
softball, baseball, badminton, cheerleading, wrestling, 8) A
variety of afterschool activities including academic tutoring
in all subject areas, 9) An award-winning student newspaper,
10) Student leadership that participates in the district-wide
student council, campus planning activities, and impacts
campus policy, 11) A network of alumni who support
the school, 12) Overnight fieldtrips and other study tour
opportunities, 13) Eight computer labs, 14) The opportunity
to help plan a $70 million dollar school renovation project,
and 15) Opportunities for parent involvement including
volunteering, participating in social and cultural events, and
having an authentic voice on campus.

College Preparatory & Architecture Academy at
Fremont High School

At College Preparatory and Architecture Academy (CPAA), we
emphasize traditional academics in our efforts to prepare our
students for college. In addition to traditional core subjects,
CPAA offers Architecture Design and Construction and
Technology classes which provide students the opportunity to
design and build creative projects. We believe in building up
our future by building strong relationships and encouraging
community building. Students graduating from the Academy
can pursue occupational training programs at the community
college level, post-secondary educational courses in related
fields or directly enter the work force in an entry level technical
training position with career potential. This is an All-School
California Partnership Academy. Community Partners and
Advisors: The Crucible, East Bay Municipal Utilities District,
Tradeswomen Inc, Sheet Metal Workers Local 104, Carpenters
Local Union 2236, Unity Council.
Mandela Law & Public Service Academy at
Fremont High School (10-12)

Mandela Law and Public Service Academy prepares students
for college and careers in legal and government service.
Through project-based, interactive, student-centered
curriculum, mandatory internships in the field, field trips
and guest speakers, students learn professional research
and critical thinking skills. Hastings Law students serve as
Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Coaches. Internships
include seven day takeover of Sacramento by Youth and
Government, Centerforce Youth Court, Berkeley Model United
Nations, Planting Justice, Ashoka Youth Ventures, Center
for Youth Development through Law at UC Berkeley Law
School (Boalt Hall), Ella Baker Heal the Streets anti-violence
program and public service agencies such as the Office of
the Mayor and the Oakland School Board. This is an AllSchool California Partnership Academy. Community Partners
and Advisors: Office of the Mayor, Oakland Unified School
Board, Angela Glover Blackwell and Policy Link, Hastings Law
School Constitutional Literacy Program, Youth Law Works
at UC Berkeley Law School (Boalt Hall), Alameda County
