Elementary TK-5
Reach Academy is a mid-size elementary school housed in
a beautiful, sunny, facility in the Las Palmas neighborhood
of East Oakland. We are easily accessible by public
transportation. Our mission at Reach is to collaborate with
family and community to raise young people prepared to
pursue their dreams and take their place as responsible,
caring members of their communities. We embrace the
Balanced Literacy Curriculum, where every classroom is
a library and students learn to read at their own level.
Basic facts, number sense and critical thinking skills are
honed daily in math class. Our school staff is creative and
enthusiastic. They have been trained in the OUSD Balanced
Literacy approach to English Language Arts, and No
Nonsense Nurturer classroom management system which
builds positive relationships with students and parents. In
addition, students explore the world in our Science Lab,
develop technology skills in the Computer Lab, and stay
fit with our coaches in P.E. Reach boasts a state-of-the-art
theater and sound system, a new library, and a Family Room.
We also offer an expanding choice of quality afterschool
programs and have a counselor at the school as needed.

School Uniform Description
Uniforms at Reach consist of Navy Blue tops and
khaki bottoms. Uniform shirts, sweat shirts and
hoodies with the Reach logo are available on
site for $12, $15, and $17, but are not required.
