Elementary TK-5
Henry J Kaiser, Jr Elementary School was established
in 1961 in the north Oakland hills on land donated by
industrialist Stanley Hiller. Kaiser’s 275 students come from
every neighborhood in Oakland, giving the school a unique
diversity that reflects the city’s demographics. We are a
community by choice. Family and community involvement
is very important to us. Each year, the PTA raises funds to
support the academic program. Parents devote countless
volunteer hours both in and out the classroom. Kaiser
Elementary provides a stimulating and creative learning
environment where every student feels respected, valued,
safe and supported. Our goal is to produce well-rounded,
reflective, socially aware individuals. Our staff of lifelong
learners works closely with our families and students to
provide an engaging learning environment where all work
to meet our goals of: Promoting academic excellence
and celebrating diversity, offering an atmosphere where
the ‘family spirit’ prevails and providing teaching which
is holistic, interactive and facilitative. Kaiser’s academic
program takes the ‘whole child’ approach integrating the
arts, music and movement in classroom projects. With
Project-based learning, a fully arts-integrated curriculum,
and differentiated learning in every classroom, Kaiser
Students are always engaged and challenged.
