East Bay College Fund was founded in 2002 to help resilient public school students, who are under-represented in higher education, to access and succeed in college. We involve the whole community in providing college access services, scholarships, mentoring, and support networks to assist students in realizing their full potential. Since our launching, we have also awarded 277 $16,000 Great Expectations scholarships. In 2014 we awarded 50 new 4-year scholarships in addition to new $1,000 1-year scholarships! To date, 80% of East Bay College Fund Scholars have graduated college—triple the national average for our demographic. Our students’ success is due in part to receiving high-touch college advising, mentoring, retreats, on-campus peer supports, and scholarships.
