Infrastructure Services
• The Outer Circulating Road (OCR) Project was named the
2015 Overall Winner and also the Winner in the category
of Projects over $10 million at the Institute of Public
Works Engineering Australasia Queensland Excellence
Awards as well as winning the 2016 Award for Excellence
in Collaboration at the Local Government Managers’
Australia Queensland Inc.
• The Garnet Lehmann Park Detention Basin project
received a Highly Commended award in the category
of Projects $1 million to $5 million at the Institute of
Public Works Engineering Australasia Queensland
Excellence Awards
• The West Creek and Goggs Street, Toowoomba,
Package 41 Project was named the Winner at the Civil
Contractors Federation National Ear th Awards Excellence
in Construction in Category 2 (project value between
$2 million and $10 million) and was also named the
Winner at the 2015 Queensland Awards Civil Contractors
Federation Earth Awards Excellence in Construction for
Category 2 (project value $2 million to $10 million).
Environment and Community Services
• The CHANGE Project won the Inclusive and Connected
Communities Award at the 2015 Parks and Leisure
Australian Awards for Excellence
• The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers won Gold for the 2015
Queensland Tourism Award for the Major Events Category
• Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers won the national event
category at the 2015 Parks and Leisure Australia National
Awards for Excellence
• Toowoomba Regional Council’s integrated plan to upgrade
the Oakey Creek parkland network won at the 2016 Parks
and Leisure Australia Queensland Awards of Excellence
• The Toowoomba Conference Guide took out a silver
award at the 2015 PICA awards for print/digital campaign.
Finance and Business Strategy
• Runner-up in the 'Large Employer of the Year' award at
the 2016 Queensland Training Awards
• Second in Queensland in the Red Cross blood donation
challenge, in the medium-sized Council category
• Council’s website won a silver award at the Melbourne
Design Awards in October 2015
• The 2014-15 Annual Report received a silver award at the
Australasian Reporting Awards
• Toowoomba Regional Council’s Corporate Processes and
Systems Project (CPS) Team were named as a finalist in
the category of ‘Team Work’ at the Local Government
Managers Awards for Excellence
• Council’s Management Accountant, Rebecca Cull won
the Queensland-wide LGFP (Local Government Finance
Professionals) Finance Professional of the Year Award
• The Customer Service Branch was runner-up at the
Contact Centre Week Awards in the category of “Best
People and Culture 2016 Award”.
