2014 Rotax Pro Tour | Round 3 | Dubbo | March 2014 | Page 2

WELCOME

Welcome to Round 3 of the 2014 Rotax Pro Tour, here at Dubbo’s Lincoln County Raceway. It is one of the best tracks in the country and always puts on a great race.

Firstly, I would like to thank Arthur Mortimer and his crew from the Dubbo Kart Club, these race meetings are a lot of work and I know they have been busy in the lead up to this event. They always play great hosts, and I am sure this weekend will be no exception.

I know it is often said, but a big thank you needs to be made to all the officials and volunteers as well, without them there would be no race meeting. They dedicate their time for us all, for what is often a thankless job.

This weekend is the first of two NSW Rotax Pro Tour rounds. For this we are offering each driver that competes in Rotax Heavy (at both rounds) a free set of Mojo D2 tyres. Hopefully it will create some interest for local and interstate drivers thinking about racing the Pro Tour. The winner of the final will also earn $500, and has the choice to take the money, or gamble it for their chance to win $2000 if they can also win the Final at the next round in Lithgow! Don’t forget the winner of the rankings points in Rotax Heavy will also get a free engine - their choice of either a Senior Max or a DD2.

The DD2 class continues to amaze me. We now have strong fields in both DD2 and DD2 Masters, providing a great opportunity to drive a gearbox kart with front brakes without the excessive cost and technical expertise required to get to the front of the field.

I invite you all, your Family & Team Members to attend our free Pizza Night here at the track on Friday night. It’s a nice opportunity to relax after the days practice and socialise with a great bunch of people.

We still have some more big events for Rotax just around the corner. Lithgow will be our next event; surely the weather will be kinder to us this year! From there we go to the Jason Richards Memorial event in Geelong. Feel free to have a chat with me if you know of a worthy recipient for this year’s Jason Richards Memorial Award.

Our biggest event later in the year, the Rotax Nationals, should be a cracker at Ipswich under lights! We have a few things planned already to make this a great weekend!

Back to Dubbo now, I wish you all good luck, and be kind to each other!!!!!!!
