A multi-year contract with the Australian Government’s Sports Commission resulted in the creation of the Australian-travelling StreetActive program, a touring street course working with BMX and Skateboarding bodies to provide specialised sports training for kids in regional areas.
Starting a family caused a shift in focus and resulted in Ken’s desire to step back from business commitments including his owning a national Events and Communication agency with offices in 3 states, a wakeboard events company partnered with world champion wakeboarder Daniel Watkins and his brother Mick, and the Suzuki-backed privateer motocross race team partnered with Jono Porter and including FMX rider Matt Schubring.
An opportunity then arrived to take over KAOS Karting from Queensland karting identities Lloyd and Maryann Warren and so over the past ten years many of the experiences and contacts created from working within other realms of motor and action sports have helped shape the direction of their involvement in karting.
In 2012 KAOS Karting was sold to enable Ken and Louise to concentrate fulltime on managing the Praga and OK1 brands and supporting retailers and their customers.
Much of the success of Praga and OK1 comes from the proactive dealer base in Australia and New Zealand who are dedicated to the kart brands and have assembled their outstanding teams of drivers and their families.
Together they specialise in the areas of Rotax race programs, junior development and club racing, and at the top levels of the sport the group can mentor and support their drivers on their motorsport pathways.
Those pathways have included international race programs in Europe and the USA, with multiple drivers of all ages attending Rotax Max Challenge World Finals, WSK events and SKUSA Supernats.
In attending major race events around the world the Praga and OK1 brands show their strength with top-level support and experience provided by the Praga global network taking in Europe, USA and Asia. cont >
