2015 Officers, Trustees and Liaisons Chairman Kevin Cox Vice Chairman Richard Ames streamlines our online communications and information-delivery capabilities. We are eighteen years into this noble venture. The results of the past give us good reason to be optimistic about the future. Sustainability is a term often used to describe society’s obligation to protect our natural resources and the environment. As a land trust organization, we also have an obligation to ensure that our efforts are sustainable. We are responsible for the stewardship and defense of the easements and conservation properties that we hold in perpetuity. The Conservancy board has concluded that at this point in our history, we should seek accreditation from The Land Trust Alliance, a national organization that has been setting standards for major land trusts. The process will ensure that we meet the rigorous standards that accredited land trusts are expected to achieve. Preparations have been underway and we are awaiting notification of our start date. In connection with this effort we will also establish an endowment. This fund or accumulation of funds is expected to grow over time and will provide the underpinnings for our future obligations to steward and defend our conservation properties.
