As he gains confidence, he will become an integral member of the team, as will Liam Morgan. Liam impressed with his bowling, he bowls a very good line and length, and had two 3 wicket bags against CHB and Tawa. Caleb Manning entertains all, with his ability to bowl the googly and his batting. He has great flight and length, but really does need to develop his leg-spin. Jarrod Lobb worked hard, finishing with a batting average of 30 with the bat! He enjoyed his two wickets against Marewa as well. 2nd XI The 2nd XI played in the High School senior grade and had some good days including a victory over the Lindisfarne 3rd XI. The team struggled to get a full quota on the field at times due to lack of numbers. The team practiced very well despite that. The team was; Corey Wilson (Captain), Callum Fitzpatrick, Jack Francois, Andreis Lindeque, Jack Morgan, Amish Rattu, Daniel Way, Angus Yule and Todd Burnard. Colts Under coach, Peter Young, the colts team continued to be competitive against the best the boys schools had to offer. Though not getting as many wins as hoped, it wasn’t without effort. The team is very talented with some very promising youngsters coming through. The 2013 vintage of wicketkeeper/batsman and captain, Harry Young, allrounders Robert Fridd and Jez Reeves, and bowlers Brandon Johnston, and Andrew Oliver made up the nucleus of the team. Jordan Hide came up from the junior B team. They were joined by some very talented Year 9’s, Liam Shackleton, Hamish Jackson, Ted Rainger, Josh Wait, Josh Lawson, and Aiden Barnshaw. Harry Young, Liam Shackleton and Hamish Jackson all played rep cricket for Hawkes Bay at age group level. Junior B Mr Fenton was in charge of a large squad of enthusiastic players. Under the authoritarian captaincy of Jack Atkinson, the team developed well, nailing a win over Lindisfarne. A few of the boys had never played cricket before but soon learnt the arts from their coach. The team was Jack Atkinson (Captain), Patrick Beard, Gabriel Coleman, Jamie Cornes, Ben James, Amarvaar Kalkat, Riki Karena, William Kelly, Josh O’Hallaran, Chris Park, Sam Percival, Liam Phelan, Harry Roberts, Harry Setter, Luke Smiley, Ethan Snow-Smith and Harish Painuli.
