Havestock 2014
The first Friday of term two saw the annual Havestock music festival take
place on the transformed stage at the common room. A cracker autumn
afternoon saw flocks of hippies converge together to celebrate peace, love
and happiness. With face painting, sausage sizzles and lolly scrambles
to keep the concert-goers happy, four bands took the stage for a valuable
practise performance before the upcoming Rockquest heats a week later.
Autumn Rain, Salt, The Lost and Super Cone Destroyer all showcased their
original pieces that they would perform and various covers. The experience
proved to be valuable as all four Havelock North bands progressed to the
Rockquest Regional Final which would be three weeks later. The lunchtime
was hugely successful with students having a boogie down to some killer
tunes and showcasing the contemporary music side of the school.
