At the start of the year, we were ready to pick Miro House
up off the floor from a losing streak and claim the Patu for
our own for the first time since 2006. The year 13’s had
never had a chance to hold the Patu, to hold our heads
up high among the other houses, and to show what we’re
made of. Winning the Patu would have been the high point
of our final year.
Camp was a huge highlight to start the year off on the right
foot. Acing all the interhouse activities, the camp shield
looked in our sights. Unfortunately, we fumbled on the last
hurdle and lost our lead, losing to Rata. However, all the
Miro year thirteens bonded and came home with sore
throats from all the chanting and the Kapa Haka
