2014 became a year of a whole lot of fun for Tainui House.
With introducing Mr Throp as Tainui’s main man. He
brought laughter, excitement and held together the family
that Tainui is. Tainui was not just about winning, it was also
about having fun.
It all started off at year thirteen camp. Tainui brought it
home by dominating in the chant competition. Combining the classic “We will rock you” mixed with some witty
original rap. Next was the skit. Even though we did not
win the overall skit, we definitely dominated in the content
area. This was due to some key acting done by Campbell
Hay, Anna Milne and the rest of Tainui year thirteens. Even
though our skit brought a slight bit of controversy, it created With Tainui going from second to third and jumping
many laughs and a lot of great memories.
contionuosly between places on the leader board. It
confirmed it to everyone in Tainui House that even though
we did not win the Patu, we have had a great year filled
with tears of laughter. We have all bonded as a house in
many different ways and everyone from Tainui House will
have many great stories and memories to share.
TAINUI
Next up was swimming sports. Tainui’s record for great
chants kicked off the day on a high. With receiving great
results from our juniors and a great turn out of people in
Tainui house, we placed third overall. This gave us a great
amount of determination to do well in athletic sports. With
Georgia Hulls being the star runner for Tainui House and a
very close relay we were hoping for a win. Second place
was the result and we celebrated with some great
drumming skills and of course another chant.
House Choir was the big event for Tainui house. With taking
on the almighty song Bohemian Rhapsody. Tanui House
had Great vocals for key parts of the song enabling us
to pull off those crazy high notes. We had an amazing
band that held everyone together and of course we had
great house spirit. Even though it was a singing oriented
house event. Tainui had a huge amount of personality
which made our performance so great. Slick moves from
Shaidyn Kopu and multiple back flips from Mikey Parsons
added to the visually entertaining show that Tainui put on.
We came second overall in House Choir. Even though we
were gutted that we did not win. We had the best time
creating the performance and on the night performing what
we had all worked really hard on to the rest of the houses.
A huge thank you to Mr T for all the amazing things he
has done for Tainui house and to the rest of Tainui, Thank
you for contributing to the greatness that Tainui is.
