IGCSE DAY AT TED
On 14 th of June, 2014, we attended
TED IGCSE Day as biology department.
Bige Sözen Kılıç, Gizem Göksel and
Elif Olgun met with Ron Pickering
who is the writer of Complete IGCSE
Biology Course book. Also, Elif Olgun,
delivered a presentation on which
participants were introduced to IGCSE
Biology education emphasizing on
teaching techniques and materials.
The most enjoyable and target driven
teaching techniques and advice were
presented. Participants received
handouts describing techniques
& materials and will analyze the
effectiveness of the technique by the
help of IGCSE Biology syllabus (0610).
The workshop proceeded in three
sessions in which: one technique
(such as pale faced homeostasis man)
will be presented; analysis of the
technique; and finally creation of a
new technique in small groups.
