IBDP BIOLOGY COURSE TEKE STREAM
AND DSI LAKE FIELD TRIP
Our Grade 12 Students went on a field trip to DSI Lake
and Teke Stream on June 21, 2014 under the framework
of the IBDP Biology Course Internal Assessment. In
order to get information on the water quality of the
area, water quality parameter measurements were
conducted. Students analysed the results and compared
them to results of the last years. Some random samples
were collected in order to examine plant diversity and
range with the quadrat technique and based on these
samples, students did a comparative analysis.
Our students also conducted measurements of organisms
in Teke Stream and DSI Lake. They examined the samples
of spineless macro organisms and then released them
back into nature with the minimum destruction. The trip
was completed successfully with the maximum respect
to other organisms’ living space and minimum human
destruction. We would like to thank everyone who
participated.
