Camera shows the view from the window, camera moves up where the title “Importance of Being Earnest” appears behind the clouds INT: OUTSIDE-MORNING Camera angle moves down from the sky to the Jack’s face. Jack runs along the way. First person view from Jack’s eyes. Scene ends with a blur. INT: Algernon’s Home- Morning Oscar sits and reads a book; whereas, Algernon plays with his cat. A knock on the door is heard and Jack steps into the house. ALGERNON O look who is here, hello Jack why you are so serious? JACK Somebody was going to put a smile on my face. ALGERNON Looks are deceitful. JACK That is what old ladies say like Miss Prism. ALGERNON Who is she? Short sighted old woman. JACK Yes she is, Camera focuses on Oscar, while he continues to read his book. This takes the attention of Jack and Jack tries to talk with Oscar but gets a negative response in return. JACK Who is he by the way? ALGERNON He? Never mind him. He is my cousin, Oscar. He came from Ireland last week. JACK What’s up man? Oscar doesn’t talk instead makes a gesture that shows that he is not willing to speak. ALGERNON Come on Oscar don’t be so wild, talk to him. Again, Oscar does not respond. ALGERNON Never mind, I am so bored. Let’s go! They stand up, Algernon opens the door and they leave home. They get into the car and Jack plays music. The scene ends with a black out.
