They follow you… - Gaye
I was greatly affected by the tragic event that
happened to Ozgecan Aslan, who was raped and
murdered on her way back home, and created this
artwork as a result.
I tried to show the great divide in the social
hierarchy between males and females in the
Turkish culture. Men can do whatever they want,
but women must live within certain rules - created
by men - and are always being watched by the
eyes of society, following them everywhere.
Spirit Animal – Lider
Inspired by an African belief, that every
individual is a reflection of nature and should
therefore find his/her own, personal spiritual
animal, I created this artwork.
