The day of C2C, I have to say Mr. Tim was my favorite session. Because not only did he tell us how to plan for college, he let some of his athletes talk about their life of a college student and how they saw it differently from high school. He showed short clips, like one of them was water rafting in the Nile River. Some of the time, the river was slow and pretty and you can see what was ahead of you. But others times, the river was so crazy that nothing seem to be clear. You couldn’ t see anything that’ s was heading towards you. Mr. Tim compared it to how life was going to be for everyone and how that things are not always easy. He also told us his life experience. He didn’ t make class boring.- Patricia Calderon
My two favorite sessions during the C2C conference was how to write an essay and how to write a résumé for college applications. During the writing class, our instructor gave us all three writing prompts used on the Apply Texas website. She also gave us tips on what to write about and how long to make each story because she, herself, reads all the essays for a university. In my résumé writing class, our instructor gave us great advice because she reads résumés to decide who gets the scholarships from her certain university. At the end, she let us get into groups and write our own made up résumé. She picked the two she thought was best to receive the imaginary scholarship.- Miguel Velez
The C2C conference this year was honestly worthwhile. I’ ve learned that there are many opportunities for me at various colleges and universities. It has taught me that my class rank really does play a big role in getting accepted to private colleges and universities. Also, the student athletes spoke about how much time is dedicated to their sports and really made me think twice about playing for college. All in all, it was a really fun day and I really did learn a lot. Hope next year is even better.- Jacky Gonzalez
