WEEKEND ACTIVITIES
My second weekend here at UTA was pretty great. On Sunday, I was able to go to church once again. This is my third year and I always looked forward to church on Sunday, just because it is such a huge and beautiful church. Waking up early is worth being able to go to mass. After brunch, we left for Parks mall here in Arlington. I spent most of the time at the movie theater, where I watched Man of Steel. It was an amazing movie with fantastic graphics. Later that night, after dinner, we had sports practice which I did not mind. I was pretty upset when it ended and was only an hour long.- Miguel Velez
As the UBMS group went to the mall, we were in pairs. As always, Jassel was my shopping buddy. Looking around the mall, going in and out of stores, we finally went to a store we like. Walking into the store, everything was so cute but as we looked for our size, we couldn’ t find our size. Looking around, noticing that this store is for plus size women, we laughed so hard as we walked out and made jokes of how much that it was a stupid decision. We were so embarrassed, we couldn’ t stop laughing. This was definitely one of my favorite moments. This past weekend we went to an art museum. While Jassel and I went to the restroom, the camp picked groups and we had to be in a group with Mr. Raleigh. At first Mr. Raleigh scared me and made me nervous every time I was around him, but as we walking and mingling with him, he is not the person I thought he was. He is actually very funny and outgoing. So
I guess you could say I met someone new. After the museum we went to the botanical gardens. It was extremely hot outside and I was in jeans. Despite how hot it was, I loved being around the environment. The flowers were beautiful and the trees were just amazing for shade. It was a wonderful experience.- Nazarioncy Pena
For Fourth of July, we went to Studio Movie Grill to watch despicable me 2. I had never been to a place where you could be served food and watch a movie. The movie was funny and a little romantic. I loved the end of the movie because it had my parent’ s song playing. This was my first holiday without my family and I was still able to have a really good time.- Desiree Garcia

My Fourth of July holiday was flipping amazing!!! I had a ball chilling with me carnales. You know, watching Despicable Me, parte dos. The movie was hilarious and the food there was amazing! Mi gusta! And the fireworks, perfecto! Also just enjoying everyone’ s presence and being around people you love and care about. All in all I had an amazing weekend.- Patrick Ayala
For Fourth of July, they had our activity for a surprise and we went to go see Despicable Me 2. It was such a cute and funny movie. I was so happy when I found out we were going to see Despicable Me 2. While watching the movie, we had dinner. It was a fun Fourth of July, to have spent with my friends. After the movie went to go walk around the mall. When it got dark, we went with the group and watch the fireworks together. I had a lot of fun this past weekend.- Martha Pecina
