This year the sen-ior drama student went
on the biannual Sydney drama trip. Five days
filled with fantastic shows, numerous taxi rides
and a spot of shopping. We had an incredible time
sharing new experiences with the 17 crazy drama
students, Mr Walton and Mr and Mrs Fitzsimons, who were
brave enough to take us. Throughout the days we took tours
of the major theatre companies seeing a slice of life behind the
curtains. We took in the sights of the beautiful Darling Harbour
and experienced the hustle and bustle of the Paddy’s markets.
Each night we saw a different style of drama performance.
These varied from the side splitting comedy, “One man two guvnors” which left us in tears,
to the expressive contemporary ballet at the magnificent Sydney opera house and then the
unique love story ”The bull the moon and the coronet of stars” which was a two person show
performed in an intimate theatre setting . These performances gave us an insight into the world
of drama beyond the classroom and introduced us to many exciting career possibilities. Overall
the
Sydney drama trip was an incredible experience and one not to be missed
by future drama students.
