1. The Pen of Liberty This historic pen is found in the emancipation gallery of the Hampton University museum. It was used on April 16, 1862. This pen was used to sign the emancipation proclamation, which was the start of the process to get African Americans their freedom.
2. The Banjo Lesson The artist that created this piece was Henry Tanner. It is found in the 19 th century gallery in the HU museum. The piece was created in 1893 and it shows an old man African American man showing a young African American boy how to play the banjo. This shows a good example of a relationship between two close people.
3. The Bagpipe Lesson The artist of this piece is Henry Tanner it is also found in the 19 th century gallery of HU museum. It was created in 1894 and shows a young person receiving help from an elder. This shows how young people need an elder’ s wisdom to solve issues like what Morrie did for Mitch in Tuesdays with Morrie.

4. From Vision to Victory The artist that made this piece was Carolyn Crump. This piece was located in the Obama Exhibit at HU museum. It was created in 2008 and shows how the vision of equal rights from people in the past wasn’ t for nothing because now we have an African American president.

It had really stood out to me because it was used for Emancipation Proclamation. It has a big connection to slaves being set free it was a document that written by Abraham Lincoln.

It had stood out because the piece of art had emotion it was sad and darkening. The main emotion is which I think is depression, which had made me get more into to see what the boy was sad about.
