Your Time For Creative Empowerment, Inc. Salutes our Gala 2013 Creative Expressionists for
their exceptionally touching contribution to the success of our first annual fundraising gala
Jasmine Gobourne is 20 years old and has been dancing since the age of five. She has always had a deep
passion for the art of dance. Jasmine graduated from Half Hollow Hills High School West with Honors in 2011
and danced at Venettes Cultural Workshop. Jasmine attended Marymount
Manhattan College and presently is a student at Alvin Ailey's Certificate program.
Briana Gobourne is 14 years old and presently is an Honor student at
Half Hollow Hills HS West. Briana has been dancing since the age of
five and has always loved to perform. She is currently a student at
Venettes Cultural Workshop and hopes that dance will always be a part of her life.
Michael David Desir
Michael D. Desir is a 14-year-old eighth-grader at John W. Dodd Middle School in
Freeport, New York. A 2014 inductee into the Junior National Honor Society, Michael
has had a passion for music since birth. He sings baritone in the J.W.Dodd Select
Chorale and in its Vocal Jazz Tapestry Ensemble. He plays a myriad of percussion
instruments including tympani and snare drums, vibraphone and chimes, along with
alto saxophone for the J.W.Dodd Concert Band, Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble.
Michael is a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church and sings in its Transformers
Youth Choir. Besides having a gift for music and oratory, Michael is a Boy Scout
First-class in Troop 18 of Freeport.
He relaxes by playing piano, video games, writing poetry and reading Sci-Fi.
