* Founded by educator, Long Island teaching artist, textile artist and designer of wearable art;
Madona Cole-Lacy, M.A. Ed., with the support and consultation of her husband; James A. Lacy,
LCSW, a highly experienced not-for-profit administrator and psychotherapist .
* Mission Statement: To empower children, adolescents and parents of all race, creed and socioeconomic status from secular and faith-based communities in the Long Island area. This empowerment is accomplished through the use of art, fashion and culture as mechanisms to improve
interpersonal relationships and avoid pitfalls that are unique to life in the 21st Century. Your Time
For Creative Empowerment, Inc. specifically identifies and effectively develops healthy problemsolving, enhances personal development and increases cultural sensitivity.
* An outgrowth of the free voluntary community service initiatives conducted through Madona
Cole-Lacy’s for-profit ventures, My Time has Come program and Madona Cole Originals, as well as
her Annual Self-Empowering Workshop for College Bound High School Students which is now
incorporated into this organization’s program offerings.
Other programs have been designed for implementation once adequate funding is secured.
