Celebrating the Creativity of our Youth
The Rev. Patrick L. Daymond was born the third child of
Mr. Tommy and Mrs. Josephine Daymond, Sr. He accepted
Jesus Christ at an early age, having been reared in the faith
at the First Missionary Baptist Church of Winter Haven, FL.
It was there in Winter Haven that he also received his
elementary and secondary education, graduating
valedictorian of Lake Region Sr. High School.
Rev. Daymond then matriculated into two top tier institutions
of higher learning. He holds a BA in Political Science from
Davidson College in Davidson, NC. He later received his
Master of Divinity degree at Princeton Theological Seminary
in Princeton, NJ, where he concentrated on Biblical Studies
and Homiletics. Currently, Rev. Daymond is enrolled in the
Doctor of Ministry Program at Garrett Theological Seminary
and the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University. His focus tract of study is
African American Congregational Leadership.
Prior to arriving at Memorial Presbyterian Church, Rev. Daymond served in ordained ministry first
as a Pastoral Resident at the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago beginning in 2005. There
he was active in various areas of ministry, specifically community outreach and mission. In 2007,
Rev. Daymond was called to be the pastor of Sixth Grace Presbyterian Church of Chicago.
During his tenure there, the congregation experienced substantial spiritual and numerical growth
committing itself to a renewed resolve in ministry and mission. There he also created a number of
