2013-2014 SFL Annual Report 1 | Page 41

Financial Information For a sixth year in a row, SFL has simultaneously increased expenditures while also growing our capital reserves. While expenses increased from $1.4 million in 2012-2013 to $2.6 million in 2013-2014, revenue increased from $1.9 in 2012-2013 to $2.9 million in 2013-2014. As SFL seeks to support a larger number of students with higher quality programming to make a greater impact, organizational expenses will continue to rise, and the organization will need to maintain a strong and steady stream of income to maintain this support for students. A combination of increased capital reserves, dedicated supporters, and improved fundraising operation will all contribute to SFL’s ability to provide such valuable support for students.
