Nova’s Jerothe Named All-American Following NCAA
Championships
Nova Southeastern’s Ryan Jerothe was named an All-American after
both scoring team points at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field
Championships.
Jerothe (Jr., New Port Richey, Fla.) became an All-American Saturday in the pole vault event, recording a new personal best and conference record mark. Jerothe claimed eighth in the event with a mark of
5.10-meters. That mark solidified Jerothe as the South Region’s premier
pole vaulter.
“I’m so proud of Ryan’s effort today,” said head coach Bryan Hagopian. “He was on a big stage today and stayed calm the entire final. We
just knew he had something great in him today. He shattered his own
school record, and had he had one more chance, he could have cleared
17 feet. I’m positive he’ll come back next year and improve immensely.”
Freshman Alex May wrapped up one of the better freshman season in men’s track program history at UAH, after finishing 18th in the
triple jump. May leaped 47 ¼ feet (14.33m) in the final of the event,
but missed out on an All-American placement. May was named PBC
