The University of North Carolina Hospitals received Magnet recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center on November 17, 2010. This is the highest form of recognition a health care organization can receive for excellence in nursing care and practice, and we are very proud to be among the six percent of hospitals that have achieved this designation. I’d like to recap some of the highlights of this year. Some may have heard me say, “This is a great place to be a member of the nursing staff, and it’s getting better all the time.” Our accomplishments in the last year suggest that this is truer than ever before. PEOPLE Our overarching achievement in the People category and the physicians with whom we work.
