Support s u pport ser v ices T he Brain Aneurysm Foundation eases the diagnosis, procedural and recovery process for survivors and families by providing phone support, email support, support groups, and our website. members. Some are brain aneurysm survivors, some have a family member affected by a brain aneurysm, and some have lost someone close to them to a ruptured brain aneurysm. In 2010, The Brain Aneurysm Foundation launched a new online support community. The support site has grown and has now reached over 1,200 Discussion forums cover many different topics. Some are nervous about surgeries to come, others worry about possible reoccurrence of brain aneurysms. Post treatment issues are discussed, as many wonder “Will my life ever return to normal?” Overall, it has been a great resource for support for those affected by brain aneurysms. The support website is www.bafsupport.org www.bafsupport.org s u pport gro u ps S upport groups offers brain aneurysm survivors and their families the opportunity to share life experiences, work through challenges and find new ways to adapt to changes in their life. The goal of support group meetings is to help alleviate fears and concerns through education and group discussions. Survivors and caregivers share their experiences and some show support to those that are in need. The healing of the spirit is just as important as that of the body. In 2010, the number of support groups continued to grow nationwide.
