eing a savvy health care consumer and
researcher is a smart idea, but securing that
information can be daunting. So with your
interests in mind, (201) Magazine turns to
MSP Communications, a leading researcher
and publisher of Super Dentists, to do that
work for you.
MSP Communications asked Bergen dentists to
nominate colleagues in the county they would choose in
seeking dental care for themselves. The Super Dentists
research team investigates further, searching for excep-
tional dentists to complement the results. Candidates are
evaluated on indicators of peer recognition, professional
achievement and any disciplinary history. Dentists were
grouped into seven practice areas. Those with the highest
scores from each grouping were invited to serve on a blue-
ribbon panel and asked to evaluate the candidates in their
practice areas. Finally, dentists who acquired the highest
total points from the surveys, research and blue-ribbon
panel review were selected for inclusion in Bergen’s Top
Dentists. Of course, no list is perfect. Many qualified den-
tists who are providing excellent care for their patients
may not be included on this year’s list. However, if you’re
