“
his home illustrates modern classic
elements with a transitional twist,”
Edgewater interior designer Vanessa
Deleon says of this Edgewater townhome that rests along the banks of
the Hudson River. The style of the
client’s previous home trended toward overscaled traditional-transitional furnishings. Once
they moved to their new residence in Edgewater,
they wanted their home to invoke a more
glamorous, modern and transitional feel.
Family Room
“This room was intended for family gatherings, so the
space was designed to invoke a casual atmosphere for
the client,” Deleon says. A large sectional was specified to allow ample seating for family and guests. A
subdued, monochromatic area rug helps define the
seating area. Soft lighting from the wall-mounted
sconces also help frame the entertainment unit. The
playful wall-climbing sculptures help give the room
movement and also complement the vibrant artwork.
