FALL 2015 GOLD COAST MAGAZINE
TOUCH
THE WRITTEN WORD
B&F BOOKS
Book lovers along the Gold Coast love this new bookstore that opened in
March 2015. Owner Lawrence Arteaga’s affair with books began with
Best and Fastest Books on Amazon years ago, but he wanted to give his
hometown a place for people to browse and touch the books. “Beware,
books inside,” reads a sign on the wall. The store not only offers good
paperback reads for $2, but all books in the store are $5 or less. For serious
book collectors looking for first-edition hardbacks and rare, out-of-print
books, B&F staff will peruse their database of more than 50,000 titles to
see if they have it in their storage space and, if available, they can have it
to you in less than 24 hours. Looking to clean out your bookshelves?
Arteaga purchases books and book collections. The store also has open mic
poetry 8 p.m. Thursdays and a children’s reading circle 11 a.m. Saturdays.
