I
know it’s not something we like to think about – but
summer is drawing to a close. Kids will soon be asking you
to bring them back-to-school shopping before you know it.
Don’t fret! We’ve got you covered when it comes to
being prepared for the start of the school year.
In this issue, senior style
editor Heather Zwain offers some
stylish school trends. From T-shirt
dresses to distressed denim and
camouflage, your kids will be ready
when the bell rings with the right
wardrobe.
Find out more about foreign
exchange programs in “Learning
Beyond Borders.” Both the Upper
School at Saddle River Day School
and The Hudson School in Hoboken
allow students to become culturally
savvy – learning language skills and
relationship building – through the
programs they offer at their schools.
Many parents are aware of the
popular Netflix series 13 Reasons
Why and its take on teen suicide.
Learn how to talk to your kids if
they are watching the show – and
other tips on how you can protect
your child’s mental health in
“Diagnosing Depression in Teens.”
Did you know that the boy band
that performed at the White House
Easter Egg Roll was from Ridgefield
Park? Find out more about
cover subjects Bro4 – brothers
CaseyJones, Madison, Levi and
Skyler Alam – on pages 24-26.
If you know a special needs

Writer Greg Tartaglia profiles
Dwight-Englewood head coach Frank Salvano Jr. (yes, the
son of the winningest high school coach in Bergen County
history, Frank Salvano) and his hopes for the Bulldogs in the
future.
Our Home department features two fairytale bedrooms
(think princesses and pirates) and a fun study. Turn to page

In my “Mom to Mom” column, I tackle the taboo topic of
formula feeding over breastfeeding. I hope I am not judged for
the decision I made.
And if the August heat is getting to you, curl up in a big
reclining seat inside the iPic movie theater in Fort Lee and
enjoy one of the summer blockbuster hits. ●
