Whether your kids take their lunch in the classic brown paper bag or in a shiny new lunchbox, what counts the most is what’s inside. While tuna fish and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are always favorites, it’s fun to shake things up a little. This recipe is a twist on the traditional ham and cheese, but in biscuit slider form. 10 AUGUST 2017 | (201) FAMILY HAM, CHEESE AND APPLE SLIDERS MAKES 8 SLIDERS Ingredients Directions 2 1 / 4 cups Bisquick 2 / 3 cup milk 1 / 2 pound thin sliced ham 1 / 4 pound cheddar cheese, sliced thin 1 green apple, sliced thin Choice of mustard onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment (this will make about 8 biscuits). Bake until just turning golden, around 8-10 minutes. T OU IP T THE SWAP CHEDDAR CHEESE FOR AMERICAN IF YOUR KIDDOS LIKE THAT BETTER! • Preheat oven to 450 degrees. • Mix Bisquick and milk together and drop • After the biscuits cool for about 10-15 minutes, split them with a fork. • Spread mustard on the biscuit halves and layer on apple, ham and cheese. Wrap securely in foil to make sure they stay together in the lunchbox.
