editor’s letter
I
f you’re reading (201) Bride, you’ve either
just got engaged (congratulations!) or
you’re in the mist of planning your
wedding (good luck!). Either way, you’ve
come to the right place.
Finding a unique cake can be hard. An all-
white cake or one covered in flowers is a popular
choice, but what if you want something a little
different? In “The Shapes of Cakes,” four local cake designers
put their talents to the test when we asked them incorporate
prism details into the design. See their daring and dramatic
desserts on pages 20-24.
If your cake is flower-free, you can go even bigger and better
with your bouquet. Always on trend are arrangements in soft and
subtle tones. Find the perfect flowers for you on pages 10-16.
“The Perfect Fit” offers head-to-toe looks with gorgeous gowns
and stylish shoes. We tried to pair them perfectly, but you can
always mix-and-match your favorites to create a look that’s all
your own.
Speaking of making something all your own. A bridal shower is
a way to tie in your wedding theme and wow your guests before
the big day. I’ve compiled eight awesome ideas to make this
pre-wedding party rock. Read my tips in “Showered with Love.”
One way to honeymoon is booking all-inclusive. “Leave Your
Wallet (and Worries) at Home” helps narrow down your options
with offering a list of the 10 best all-inclusive resorts in the world.
Also in this issue: packing your beach bag for your honey-
moon, finding out if you and your husband- or wife-to-be are
financially compatible, and binge-worthy bachelorette movies.
And, finally, six local couples share their wedding days
with us on pages 40-51. Get ideas for your big day and
submit your wedding to us for consideration in a future issue
(read details below). B
Happy planning!

SUMMER/FALL 2018 | (201) BRIDE
Do you want to
appear in (201) Bride?
Here are some tips for submitting
your wedding to our magazine:
FIRST: A Tie to (201). Did you or your
husband grow up in Bergen County? Do
you currently reside here? If so, you are
one step closer to being featured in the
magazine.
SECOND: Details. Details. Details.
Weddings that feature unique detail shots
stand out. Brides-to-be want to get ideas
for their own big day, and what better way
than to showcase the great ideas you’ve
planned into your wedding?
THIRD: Don’t Forget Deadlines. We are
currently accepting 2018 weddings to
feature in our 2019 issues. Deadline to
submit your 2018 wedding is Jan. 5, 2019.
December brides, we give you a little bit
more time. The December wedding
deadline is Jan. 31, 2019.
